Where Can I Hear A “Live Performance”?
Boise Queen is very active in performing a variety of venues around town.
This website offers the best possible information that can be obtained
as to where you might be able to catch his performance.
Boise can usually be seen and heard at "House Red" 7403 w. Madison St.
Forest Park,IL. on pre-announced dates and times located on his concert
calendar page of this website.  You might also see an advertised posting
directly on his "Gigmasters"press kit page by clicking the orange "Book Now"
Gigmaters logo located directly on the homepage of this website. You can a
check out his Gigmasters calendar as well.
2. What If I Don’t Have A Piano?
A piano rental can be arranged for a fee. These charges include delivery, set up, tuning
and pickup. You may rent a full size grand piano or a studio (upright) (subject to availability).
Boise Queen can make all necessary arrangements.Rental prices begin at $325.00.

Do You Take Breaks?
For four hour engagements or less, one ten minute break is taken. Most musicians will
break on the hour, However, Boise Queen will play until invited to break by valued
clients who would like continuous “ambience”. If a client plans to have speakers,
invitees giving toasts, introductions, video presentations,   piano is not required
   during this time.

   4. Do I Need To Get The Piano Tuned? If the piano has not been tuned within the last 3 months, it is highly recommended. You may be charged a “rental” fee at many banquet facilities/hotels. This tuning should be included in your charges. Facilities vary and you need to check with your event coordinator at your location. A typical fee is $75.00. Moving a piano will not cause it to go “out of tune”. Lack of use, change of Seasons ~ i.e. Heat, Air Conditioning, and the age of the piano will contribute to your determining your need for tuning. Ask to see a receipt from the tuner to ensure your service was completed. The facility will arrange for tuning. Please be sure that the piano is in workable, playable, condition prior to your event, including all pedals and keys. The tuner hired by the facility is also a trained technician and should be made aware to give his/her “seal of approval”. Ask when the piano will be tuned and please make sure that it has been. A receipt is proof

 5. Our Group Is Over 150 People. Should We Arrange For A Microphone? It is recommended that you arrange to have the piano “miked” especially if your piano is an upright. Many variables affect how the sound of a piano is received. High ceilings, hardwood floors, conversation, servers, etc. will contribute to a piano being heard well. Hotels often have Audio Visual Departments who will arrange for a microphone at a small fee. Some DJ’s will be happy to provide a portable microphone to be placed inside the piano until dancing begins. Often, the facility has a “standing microphone” that can be placed right next to the piano. Check with your event coordinator to review

6. Our Group Is Only 50 People. Are You Going To Be Too Loud So We Can’t Enjoy Conversation? A pianist can adjust volume by using a soft pedal or making sure the piano lid is closed. It is advised that if elderly people are in attendance, you may want to be sure to have them seated away from the piano at one of the tables furthest from the piano. Hearing aids pick up “feedback” and music of any kind can be very disturbing. Please feel free to ask the pianist to lower the volume as much as you like at any time during your event. A pianist will not be offended by that request. Musicians are hired to provide pleasant background music – and are not expecting to appear “in concert”. Music should be enjoyable and always conducive to conversation. Pianists often cannot gauge how music is being received in that sound is projected from the back and side of the piano, not from the bench. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

  7. Can We Choose The Music? Most clients leave selection of music to the musician except when planning wedding ceremonies. A list of “standard” wedding music is available for suggestions but the final selections are usually chosen by the bride and groom. Requests for other types of events are welcome and encouraged, but if the song is a particular favorite, please give the pianist at least 30 days notice should the piece need to be ordered. It can take up to three weeks to order sheet music via a music store.

  8. What If We Want The Pianist To Stay Longer Than Our Agreed Terms Of The Contract? A client is more than welcome to ask a musician to stay longer should guests appear to be staying a bit longer than originally anticipated (provided the musician does not have an engagement immediately following). Approach the musician and ask if he/she is available to stay longer. Overtime rates will apply with additional payment expected on date of service.

  9. Can You Provide Additional Musicians? A duo or trio can be provided for you (which include the pianist). String quartets, orchestra, etc., and other recommended vendors will be available to you but will not include Mr. Boise Queen. The duo is typically vocal/piano with the trio consisting of bass, drums/piano or quartet consisting of bass, drums/piano and vocals with or without an extra side musician featured on either sax or flute.  The piano is most typically used for weddings...

10. What Does A Pianist Wear? A professional musician’s attire is elegant basic black. A gentleman should wear a tuxedo or dinner jacket. The ladies should wear an elegant black dress/ensemble. For evening receptions, the attire will reflect “After Five” wear.

11. What If The Pianist Gets Sick Or There Is An Emergency? In 30 years, Mr. Boise Queen has never missed any more than one performance and sub contracted with a professional colleague to take his place. There has never been an event where there was a “no show”. He has a networking of hundreds of the finest Chicago Professional musicians as a resource and will always have a “backup” in case of an unforeseen emergency. You will not need to find a replacement or be concerned with compensating the substitute. All details are taken care of by Talent Aid Promotions Entertainment or by Boise Queen personally.

12. What Time Do You Arrive For An Event? Set up time is 30-60 minutes prior to an event. Performance time starts when stated on the contract. Boise Queen does not bring music except when playing with other musicians. In those instances, no advance preparation is required beyond 15 minutes.

  13. What If We Need A Rehearsal And Would Like A Vocalist? Boise will arrange for a vocalist unless the client has a family member or special friend invited to sing. If Boise deems a rehearsal necessary (depending on the experience of the vocalist), one is scheduled before the event at the convenience of pianist/vocalist. If a professional vocalist is hired, there may only be a “run through” required on the day of the wedding just prior to prelude. This is a decision made, collectively with each event. A rehearsal is $100.00/hr.

  14. Are There Additional Fees Involved? The fee that you are quoted includes, the actual services, music preparation travel/mileage and lodging for out-of-town long distance events. (Please see our Musicians Pricing page located on this website. Please note* The prices posted are specific only for Mr. Boise Queen. If other musicians are selected we will be happy to e-mail or fax a price quote at your convenience.  If your event is held in downtown Chicago, a parking/travel fee will apply. Each event is quoted individually, depending on the length of the event.  Please note also; that the music industry standard for a professional performance consists of a 4-hour maximum or 1 show.  Additional performance time may be featured on an “overtime” cost basis.

Additional Note: Travel mileage will also include vehicle rental rates and fuel.  Most long distance travel that Boise will rely upon is either travel by rail or by bus.
The only time that Boise will rent a vehicle is either to shuttle keyboard and related equipment such as speaker floor monitors, amp etc. A rented vehicle may become necessary if the
event is located in an area of the state where public passenger transport does not serve that area.

15. Should We Set Aside A Meal For The Pianist? If you are planning an event 3-4 hours, a meal upon conclusion of the pianist’s performance is greatly appreciated. The wait staff will be happy to set something aside at your request. It is appreciated if one of the wait staff offers a beverage during the performance to keep at the piano. (A side note: If you have arranged for parking vouchers for your guests, please allow one for your pianist, as well. Otherwise, an additional $25.00 will be charged, if parking fees apply. )

16. Can We Place A Floral Arrangement On The Piano? For safety reasons, we advise against this. Vibrations from the piano being in use can cause a vase to shift. This especially applies to candles. There have been occasions when lit votive candles were placed on top of the piano ~ vibrations caused the candles to shift ~ resulting in hot candle wax pouring all over the pianist’s hands. Keep in mind, also, that a piano lid is often opened to project sound, if needed. If a vase is placed on top, the music will not be heard. Please save your special adornments for your guests’ tables. NEVER place beverages on a piano.

17. When Is The Best Time To Contact Mr. Boise Queen?  Boise or Gary Ehrlinger (Mktg/promotions Dir.)Is available 9 am to 6 pm Monday thru Saturday (and holidays!) to take your personal phone calls. Our new toll-free number: (800) 613-3820. A voice messaging center is on 24 hrs a day . Your calls are very important and will be responded to as soon as possible, most often within 1- 4 hrs. Always be sure to mention the best time to reach YOU.  SPECIAL NOTE*: Never depend on one mode of correspondence when contacting a musician or entertainment source for booking. If calling, always follow up with an e-mail and vice-versa when notifying a booking source. Also, if your using a cell phone and have to leave a message and you do not get an immediate response, try e-mailing (if you have the address)and/or try your call again using a line phone.  Problems have resulted from messages sometimes not getting through sufficiently using cell phones because of area interferences to transmitted calls in some cases. .  Our main office in Chicago: (800) 613-3820 EXT 2 For booking. When possible; use our "Book Now"form . We have two "Book Now" contact forms. The orange Book Now logo you'll see on the right hand side of the homepage is for booking events through our online resource using your visa, mastercard or American express credit card. The other is the "purple colored"book now button found on the far left of each site page comprising the site page menu . When possible always use the purple book now button whether or not you intend on using a credit card or not. Using this purple book now button feature only tells us something about your event, it does not obligate you to actually book the musician.  However, after filling out the form and clicking your info through you must call (800) 613-3820 within 15 minutes of clicking your info through leaving a verifiable contact phone number ,your full name and e-mail address or your information will reroute to our spam file and will be deleted.  This is done to help screen out spammers who want to leave a lot of encrypted garbage on our forms.

  18. Do We Need To Make An Appointment To Meet With You And/or Select Music? It is always a pleasure meeting clients. You are cordially invited to visit our site and to pull up Boise’s Concert Calendar to see if he is playing anywhere around town that will be nearest or convenient for you to get to hear him “Live”. Please use the contact information on this website to make an appointment by phone, fax, or e-mail if an appointment is pertaining to setting up a live audition, discuss event features relative to the type of performance you want or to go over a specific type of music selected in an audition setting.  You do not need to make an appointment for making requests for a live audition, booking or to address a specific issue that can be conveyed either by phone, fax or e-mail.

  19. I Need To Select Wedding Ceremony Music But Am Not Sure What To Choose ~ What Do I Do? Boise Queen has a listing of “standard wedding music” most often performed and will be happy to assist you with Prelude / Processional / Entrance / Unity Candle / Recessional / Postlude selections. If you would like to hear what specific pieces sound like, you can visit any local music store. Go to their “Wedding Instrumentals” section, and choose any wedding CD. This is a wonderful reference that many brides have found extremely helpful and recommended, highly.

20. How Long Do I Need A Pianist For My Wedding Reception? The majority of receptions that Boise Queen performs for consist of a “Cocktail Reception” lasting one hour, followed by two hours of background piano music for dinner. Keep in mind that music will not be played during announcements/toasts and that generous time is allowed between courses as your dinner is being served. At the conclusion of three hours, you will be finishing with desserts/coffee. At that time, a DJ / Band / or Orchestra will take over for your dance portion – ensuring that you have music throughout your reception.

21. I’m Not Planning On Having Dancing. How Much Piano Music Do I Need? The same “rule” applies with piano for a “cocktail/champagne punch” reception of one hour ~ followed by two hours for brunch/luncheon/dinner. Guests will most likely enjoy coffee, brief conversation, and say their “goodbyes” soon after the meal is completed. This is an excellent guideline for morning/afternoon and evening receptions with 75 or less guests attending.

  22. I’m Hosting A Luncheon/Shower. We Would Love A Pianist But Don’t Know How Much Time We’d Need One? Two hours is recommended. Piano during your social hour/luncheon is perfect and provides a classy, festive, atmosphere. The luncheon will last one hour in that you have less courses and time in between, unlike a wedding reception. Piano is not recommended for the time gifts are being opened.

23. Where Should I Have The Piano Placed? It is strongly recommended that the piano not be placed in a far corner away from your guests. This prevents your guests from feeling free to ask for requests or allowing the pianist to interact and help make your guests feel welcome. Place it as close to the entrance as you can ~ allowing for your servers to get through from the kitchen, freely, and away from your bar area. If possible, place the piano in the center of the room. It is striking, a beautiful focal point, and perfect for 100 people or less. If you have groups of 125 or more, the piano cannot be moved easily afterwards, becoming an obstacle (depending on the size of your room). Be sure your piano can be easily moved to the side or out of the room, entirely, at the conclusion of your meal. Your Event Coordinator MUST makes the final decision regarding placement due to all factors/logistics involved to accommodate your party, comfortably and safely.

24. Our Wedding Ceremony Is Outside And There Is No Piano. What Do We Do? Your facility must have an electrical outlet outside to accommodate a portable keyboard. Mr. Boise Queen will recommend a keyboardist w/equipment or a violin, harp, flute, etc. if requested. Many facilities have requirements that must be met ~ i.e. Cheney Mansion in Oak Park requires a certain length of green extension cords to be used. Please check with your facility regarding their policies on equipment.

Please Note* Boise Queen will only use a portal keyboard if its use is in conjunction with the following: Back-up a vocalist, part of a live duo, trio or band or using it as a pre-programmed rhythm instrument to accompany himself on a regular acoustic grand piano with bass and percussion tracks; a special feature offered to clientele desiring dancing at their event.

25. How Soon Should We Contract With A Pianist? If you find a vendor that you are confident will provide the best services for you, contract as soon as possible. Musicians often book one or two years in advance. It is a great disappointment to hope your date is “on hold” only to find out it is not available when you are ready to sign. Vendors cannot promise dates without signed contracts. Your date may be available today but that may not be the case tomorrow. Without a signed contract and deposit, your date will not be held for more than five days. Boise Queen never performs or promises a client he will perform for without a deposit and a “signed” contract agreement.

Additional Note* Boise Queen prefers to book no more than 6-9 months out if it is an out-of -state gig.  The reason for this is that hotel lodging reservations for some hotels in some area's in a particular state are reluctant to book reservations that far in advance because of the increased risk of "overbooking" a particular occupancy. A room may or may not be available
at the price quoted months earlier when Boise presented his price quote to the client. Whatever the price that was quoted to the client absolutely must be the exact same price going on the contract.  The same is true of passenger rail transport or bus. Fares have been known to increase sharpely on either the departing or return portion of a roundtrip ticket by rail because of a large passenger occupancy at a designated stop at a particular time of any given month especially holidays. This results in fewer seats available and therefore the price goes up for passengers wanting to book those seats.

26. Why won’t you be willing to perform solo piano on a portable keyboard?

There are several very good reasons for this as follows:

(1)    Cost and ease of transport

If a musician is going to use a standalone keyboard to perform gigs within his or her immediate local market then cost and ease of transport might not present that big of a problem. However, if he or her has to transport a portable keyboard out of state or on a long distance venture whereas they might not own their own vehicle and they have to rent a transport to carry it, then the out of pocket expense to do that gig is going to cost them their salary unless the client is willing to pick up the tab.  Keep in mind when a musician brings a keyboard they are also bringing an amplifier to drive the sound through a set of speakers or “floor monitors”.  They are also bringing in connectivity cables, ground fault multi outlets and the cases in which this equipment was transported in.  You cannot get on certain public passenger carriers with all that equipment. There are size and weight and a number of baggage restrictions to contend with.  Those carriers that have the tightest restrictions are the airlines.

Public passenger carriers that will allow transport of instruments like this will impose a hefty fee for each baggage exceeding over the limit in number, size or weight.   Unless a musician has their own vehicle and has to drive himself or pay to have someone of which the cost is picked up by the client then it’s not cost effective to do standalone solo portable keyboard.

Also, please be aware that pricing for a portable keyboard as a standalone solo instrument might potentially be at a higher rate than with an acoustic regular piano thats already in place at the event facility.

Some customers are surprised at this!   When you consider that transport of some oversized acoustic instruments (eg. upright acoustic bass, drums etc.); especially electronic instruments on many public transport carriers that cannot go onboard as carry-on baggage will be at severe risk of damage due to handling, excessive heat or cold; then you can understand the potential risk involved for a musician to transport such equipment and getting to his destination and finding out only then whether his instrument is still functional enough for his/her performanceWith a keyboard a musician is not just transporting a single item  but everything else of vital necessity to drive the sound out of the instrument so it can be heard. (eg.floor monitors, amplifier, mix board, cables etc.)

Some musicians are able to get around instrument transport problems on long distance travel by renting their instrument at a local instrument rental retail outlet at the point of their travel destination. This may work out favorably and then again it might not.  First, there may not be such a retail rental outlet available within close proximity of the event site to make it cost effective to the client to be willing to pay for both rental and the musician's "out-of-pocket cost to travel to and from the rental site in many local circles.

Secondly, unless a musician is well familiar with the quality of the instruments that the rental outlet has available this might not be such a good idea, especially for electronic driven instruments such as a keyboard.  There has been  plenty of "unpleasant" experiences musicians have had whereas, they've tested the instrument in the store and it worked fine but then they took it to the gig and it didn't work.

One such recent occurence was that a musician rented a portable piano after testing it in the store and then found out that the a.c outlet amperage load in the ballroom where he was supposed to perform was not rated high enough to support enough power to drive either the keyboard nor the amplifier for sound output through the speakers.  He needed a special rated cord on both the keyboard and the amplifier which he did not have.  There were a.c outlets located in other meeting rooms throughout the facility that would work but they were all in use and he did not have an extention cord long enough to reach those outlets anyway.

Fortunately for both client and musician the facility had a regular well tuned upright piano available for rent that the client was trying to avoid having to pay for.

The musician had to take a serious cut in pay in order to accomodate his client on the upright piano. The musician was still stuck with the out-of-pocket rental charges for an instrument that was no longer functional.

(2)    Value in Performance sound quality:

This is usually left up to the individual musician and what the client expects for their guests satisfaction.

There are some clients who are very particular about the performance quality and the visual ambiance that a pianist performing on a regular grand piano or well maintained upright can contribute to their event.

From a pianist’s perspective, the type of repertoire as well as the style in which it is played has a lot to do with it.   As one recent pianist had put it: “If you paid to attend a piano performance having heard a cd of the pianist performing a work on a grand piano that you liked; only to discover he was about to perform that same work “Live” on stage using a standalone keyboard; would you feel you’d be satisfied with what you were about to hear?

Think of this as the standard SA 50.  (SA: Satisfied Audience 50%).

If you’re a musician and you feel that what you are about to perform and the way you perform it is not going to Satisfy at least 50% of your Audience; then you know it’s not going to satisfy you as a musician….then why do it?

Most professional pianists that Boise Queen has been in contact with either use a portable keyboard but prefer not to as a solo standalone instrument or do not use it at all unless used to accompany a singer or other instruments in a group type venue.
An aging piano instructor once told me years ago that if you stay in this business long enough to love it, you'll soon learn the difference between customer satisfaction in doing whatever it takes for money...and customer satisfaction in doing whatever it takes that money can't buy.

Additional Note: We are not condemning the art or practice of performing standalone solo keyboard. There are many musicians who perform quite well using a portable keyboard to do a solo performance. In fact; we have many musicians we are in touch with that are in our "Musicians Registry" that we refer out all the time to various clientele that are looking for musicians that can play using a portable keyboard when a regular piano is not available. What is being addressed here is that what one musician may offer is not necessarily a good thing to be offered by another musician based upon music style and presentation as well as cost and accomodation. A popular misconception by a lot of client prospects is that to require a pianist to perform on a portable standalone keyboard is somehow more cost effective or "cheaper" than performing on a regular acoustic piano. Nothing can be further from the truth.
When you factor in the musician's out-of pocket cost in renting a vehicle to transport not only the keyboard but associated equipment needed to drive the sound e.g floor monitors,amplifier/PA,cables and keyboard stand and bench as well as gas and possible lodging for long distance accounts; the savings for not having a regular piano available can go right out the window. The average cost of transport alone can be as much as $200- $300.00 greater than the standard price for a performance on a regular acoustic piano that is available.
  27. How do you prefer to be paid? Will you accept a personal check?

Boise Queen will not accept a personal check as payment .

The preferred method of payment by most musicians is a “cash

transaction, however this might not be possible in all cases.

The next best thing to payment by cash is either a cashier’s check

or a money order.  Many musicians have been known to have

encountered some very serious problems with personal checks.

Even cashier’s checks and money orders have shown to be at

risk for forgery by criminal artisans who know “How to do it”!

We use our own agreements for booking musicians for an event.
A small deposit (usually one-third to one half the total amount of the agreement)
is required on a specified date to be submitted prior to or returned with the clients
      signed signature on the agreement.
If we enter into a final agreement with a cleint using the clients own contract, riders
etc. payment in full is required prior to the event date.

A prospective client can now be offered to pay by "ALERT PAY"

if they do not care to reveal sensitive financial information.

(See the "Alert Pay " logo below and on the musicians price page of this website)

For those who wish to pay by debit or credit card, we strongly

recommend using our online booking resource "Gigmasters".

They are easily accessible by clicking the orange colored

"BOOK NOW" logo on the upper right of the homepage of this site.

Additional Note* As a safeguard Boise will always ask for a deposit either by one third or by
one half of the total contract.  The initial deposit is usually paid by credit or debit card directly
through our online booking agent "Gigmasters".  In some cases a client might opt not to want
to use a debit or credit card for an initial deposit and might decide to book a musician directly
using a cashier's check, cash or money order.  If this method of payment is used for a deposit
the client will always receive an "invoice" listing the total amount of charges, payment dates and
 balance due.

  28.  When is the best time to contact a pianist for booking entertainment for an event?

If you feel you would like your guests to enjoy the ambience of the

natural sound of an acoustic piano then it’s always best to select a

facility for your event that has one available before you start shopping

         for a pianist.

On the other hand, if this is not possible a good time to contact Boise

Is about 1-2 months (for most local events)and 3-9 months for out of state events.

One good thing to keep in mind, Boise’s responsibilities to you as a pianist

does not begin or end when he sits down to play.  It starts when he

receives that first telephone call or e-mail confirming his being selected

to perform your event and that means helping you, if possible; with other

concerns about your event e.g contract preparation, information gathering,

generating ideas in helping you to decide what music should be performed

or even securing the rental of a piano for your event; if you desire.

These functions require time and expediency to make your event a success.

 29. What's the difference between the "promotional price" your offering to service my event and your
      "regular price"?
A promotional price offered for Boise to provide piano entertainment for your event usually is the most
aggressively competitive price offered compared to pricing offered by other pianist's of similiar quality
and genre category.   Its a type of pricing usually vying to attract a number of potential "new business"
in a particular entertainment service region, locale or a particular event facility that would be in a position
to recommend Boise's services out to clientele of their own.
It is also pricing used to either celebrate or commemorate a particular past occurence, historical
event, person or place,as it might relate in personal significance to Boise Queen directly or to Talent Aid
Promotion Entertainment and music in general.
PROMOTIONAL PRICING: PRO'S VS. CON'S
Promotional; Pricing has several advantages as well as "disadvantages" to those seeking a more agressively
competitive pricing structure for professional solo piano entertainment.
The biggest advantage is as follows:
(1) Promotional pricing has a greater degree of freedom allowed the pianist to pick up the tab either on the
travel expense or lodging costs leaving the customer to just pay the performance fee. This could be
anywhere from as much as 100% on either one or both down to a minimum of 10-15% based upon the
total contract cost package to the client. Most of the gigs that would qualify for a promotional price
would be local Chicago area events. Keep in mind that a "promotional price" will alway's be based upon
the performance fee only NOT THE TOTAL CONTRACT RATE, which includes BOTH the performance fee and
the travel/lodging costs. A promotional price on the performance fee will always be lower than the regular
price for the same amount of time presented for that exact performance. An acoustic Grand piano well
tuned and maintained must be made available at the event facility for Boise's performance for any
     promotional price.
The Disadvantages of promotional pricing are as follows:
(1) Performance fee rates are "locked in". There is no waiver involving overtime. Customer is charged a  rate
of $25.00 per half hour extra in case performance goes one-half hour over the contract time frame.

(2) Pianist must be contracted to perform a minimum of 2 whole hours for any local event and 3 hours minimum
for all long distance(over 20 miles of Downtown Chicago) or interstate location event facilities.
All long distance based event and interstate facilities must be located in a major metropolitan area or region
or township of the state that is serviced by either Amtrak or Interstate passenger bus service daily direct
from the Chicago area to a point in destination not greater than 10 miles between lodging and event facility
     and rail/bus terminal and lodging.
(3) No special requests for any NEW song material to be learned or developed that is not already a part of the
pianist's song que. Any added song material to be learned involving downloading from computer or
purchasing music manuscripts, lyrics and doing any special arranging in its preparation for performance
will require an additional 30% cost added to the overall contract rate.  Under our regular performance fee
pricing the additional service of learning new song material, arranging or set aside expense for any lyrics
or manuscript purchases; as well as the time involved is already included in the regular price.
There is good reason for this: Pianist may be traveling or may have limited access to piano, computer or
lyrics and manuscripts necessary to work on the material prior to the event date. In order to meet his
objectives and responsibilities to the client engaging his services in this area Boise may have to make
changes in travel itinerary or changes in important appointments costing money to meet his deadline.
Special song requests on all promotional pricing offers will be limited to just Holiday music,Happy Birthday,
traditional wedding ceremonial background (classical) Processional and recessional.
(4) No continuous group sing-a-longs or accompaniment to vocalist's or other instrumentation. Regular pricing
     would need to apply.

(5) Regular pricing would have to apply if solo piano is going to be applied to choreograph any special event such
as a fashion show, spoken word,a drama production for more than 25% of the time that Boise Queen is in
actual performance. The only exception is that if  the event Boise is contracted for is part of an "ongoing"gig
for hire ,which will be stated in the overall contract.
(6) Live Auditions on a promotional price basis is unfortunately fee-based at the rate of $25.00 per half hour
non-refundable. This is an extra charge that will not be applied to the overall contract rate. Payment is by
either cash, paypal or by certified check only.
Additional Note: Live auditions are considered  performance's, which once were offered free to potential customers
but have been readily abused by those in the past. To safeguard this service for those who are actual bonfide
buyers a charge had to be imposed in order to make this option a viable means of transacting the business of
entertainment to a serious buyers market.

30. WHAT IF ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO HEAR AND SEE BOISE PERFORM "LIVE"CAN I ARRANGE FOR AN AUDITION?
Absolutely! If you are being charged the regular performance rate for acoustic grand piano solo performance
live audition charges are  already included at no extra charge for up to a 30-minute session.
There are several free sites available throughout the Chicago area where a piano is available at no charge.
One such facility that I recommend quite often is the Harold Washington Library downtown Chicago in there
performing arts department. There's also a couple of locations within the immediate Oak Park,IL area as well.
Since its expected that no binding agreement has been acquired at the time an audition is requested a $25.00
deposit will be necessary before the actual audition date which WILL BE NON-REFUNDABLE,even
if the customer decides not to contract Boise for their event.
If after the audition the customer agrees that contracting Boise is eminent for their event; then $25.00 will be
applied to the overall contract as part of the deposit amount prior to the event date. If the event is through
Gigmasters, it will be Boise's responsibility to return to the Press kit page and update the deposit amount in the
client's behalf. It will then be the client's objective to add the difference to the remaining deposit online to secure
the performance date . SPECIAL NOTE: If the customer prospect pay's the general deposit either through Gigmaster's
using a credit card or directly using PayPal,AlertPay or cash transaction prior to any scheduled live audition date, then
the audition is automatically included in the deposit at no additional cost. If the prospect decides not to contract
Boise Queen for their event then the deposit will automatically be refunded through Gigmasters if using a credit card
or will be returned within 7 business day's if deposit is made using PayPal,AlertPay or cash transaction.

31. WHAT IF THERE'S AN ACOUSTIC PIANO AVAILABLE BUT ITS JUST NOT A GRAND PIANO
That's ok! However regular solo piano pricing would have to apply except in certain instances
a general promotion might already be running regarding a multiple number of local
events or one particular ongoing event that Boise would be contracted for.
The whole concept here is that Boise Queen sounds the best when he's performing on the best.
As a professional he's not just up there performing just to get paid and therefore "anything that'll go
....is good for the dough". Boise is not that type of an artist/musician! That's why these promotional
prices are geared to reward and favor clientele who go out of their way to wanting to present the best
for their event in the way of hosting their event in a facility that would accomodate the best for their
guests. Having an available grand piano freshly tuned in kept condition is a signal that is in tune with
the kind of quality standards that Boise would need to deliver the best presentation of his performance
 format.
